This phone is a great shame. The physical design is nice, the mechanics of it are well made and the device looks great on the desk. The buttons are solid and it looks like a professional device well made, alas this belies the rubbish software beneath. I have had mine now for better part of a year, in the early days I regretted ever buying it as the setup was not trivial and I found all sorts of things that just didn't seem to work, or were needlessly complex to setup. The code HAS IMPROVED over that last few months as releases come out and I discover things that are more stable than they used to be. I still periodically find it's disconnected from the SIP service for no apparent reason, with very little to tell you on the screen.
The location codes for your weather and localised services are non-trivial to locate.
The phone book has no app to go with it, so you end up editing raw XML. I dare not contemplate the mechanism for uploading my own logo onto the phone, and I'm a software engineer.
It won't work with a standard Plantronics headset I have.
It's clunky. Don't get me wrong, it does work when you eventually work out what is required, but the software lets it down SO badly. I would buy another, as now I know what it's like, I am forearmed. I wouldn't recommend one to a new user, you will waste hours fiddling with it. This phone should really have 5 stars, but I find the software lets it down badly. Such a shame.
